KWTX reports that 1 man is dead after falling into a grain silo outside of Hamilton, Texas on FM 932.

54-year-old David Amaro passed away after falling into the silo on Wednesday evening. Hamilton County Sheriff Justin Caraway jumped into the Silo himself to try and rescue the man, but could not reach him. Caraway said, "We just couldn't get to him fast enough."

Amaro was an employee of the Bottlinger Grain Company who had climbed into the Silo secured by a rope. The rope gave way and David was quickly covered by the grain. The rescue efforts was described as desperate and included units from Hamilton, Hico, Jonesboro and Coryell County. David's body was extracted from the silo about 2 hours after he fell in.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Amaro's family and the staff at Bottlinger Grain.
