10 Christmas Movies You Have to Watch this Year (With GIFS!)
From classics like It's a Wonderful Life, to new favorites like Elf, these are the Christmas movies you MUST watch this year!
So you guys already know Christmas is my favorite time of year. There are so many traditions I love, like Christmas music on the radio, and drinking hot chocolate while looking at Christmas lights. But one of my very favorites has to be watching Christmas movies! They are just so magical and always seem to get you in the holiday mood! Below I've compiled my top 10 Christmas favs you can't miss this year (excluding specials, because then it would be 4534545 times longer, obvi)!
THE SANTA CLAUSE
This movie came out when us 20 somethings were kids, and it.was.magical! Tim Allen is one of the best movie Santa's in my opinion, (see my #1 choice below), and this movie gives logical answers to the behind the scenes magic of Santa and his workshop!
WHITE CHRISTMAS
Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and a precious ex general who needs a Christmas miracle. BRB, I need some tissues.
A MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL
Y'all. Don't laugh, but this is my favorite version of A Christmas Carol, HANDS DOWN! The muppets + Michael Caine? Perfection.
HOME ALONE
This movie taught kids how to defend their home in case they were ever left to deal with intruders alone at 8. Also, the one liners are pure gold. Keep the Change, Ya Filthy Animal.
ELF
What's better than a Will Ferrell movie? A Will Ferrell movie about Christmas! Also, extra points for featuring a still relatively unknown Zooey Deschanel.
MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET...THE 1994 VERSION!
I know, I know, this is a risky statement. Although I usually always prefer the original when it comes to classics, this one is better in my opinion. For one, Richard Attenborough is the best movie Santa ever. (Yep, I said it!) Also, 2 words. Dylan. McDermott.
ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE
I LOVE THIS MOVIE! First of all, Jimmy Stewart is my celebrity crush (don't judge). And It's got such a great message! Tears are forming just thinking about George Bailey, the richest man in town.
A CHRISTMAS STORY
I never appreciated this one until I got a little older. And then I realized that it was comedy gold. I double dog dare ya to watch this one!
A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS
The crown jewel of Christmas cartoons. (I know this is technically a special, but WHATEVER! I have it on DVD so it still counts!) Also, this is probably the most innocent thing to air on network tv all year!.
