November is officially here! Time to put away that Halloween candy and bring on the turkey!

I'm not going to lie. In my household, November 1st is a holiday in itself. Since it's the first day that it's socially acceptable (kind of) to celebrate Christmas, my college roommate and I used to have a legitimate countdown until Halloween was over and we were allowed to play Bing Crosby and Andy Williams on repeat. But that's not the only  reason why November is awesome. Here are the top 10 reasons why this month rocks!

    Daylight Savings Ends

The end of daylight savings is like a holiday in itself! It's the one time out of the whole year you get 25 hours in a day! I take advantage of it by sleeping for an extra hour...obviously. What's even better is that for weeks it's so much easier to wake up with the sun already up and shining!

    Yummy Holiday Drinks

One of the greatest things about November is that you get an overlap of holidays. That means an overlap of holiday treats! November 1st, Starbucks started selling their holiday drinks. This weekend I tried the gingerbread latte and the caramel brulee latte (don't judge me!) It's like Christmas in a cup!

    No Shave November

This is a craze that caught on a few years ago, and is now a widespread trend across the US. For the entire month of November, men vow not to shave in order to raise awareness about men's health issues. It's also really funny to see a man who is normally clean shaven sport a grizzly beard for a month out of the year!

    Cooler Weather

Although it takes a while for it to cool down in Texas, by November it's usually at least cool enough to wear long sleeves...sometimes. By the time we reach Thanksgiving, maybe we can even start a fire in the fireplace!

    Hunting Season

Most people don't know this about me, but I'm actually a big fan of deer season, which for the most part, begins the first weekend in November in Texas. (Don't hate me, PETA! It's population control! lol) Although I haven't actually gone since I was kid, My dad and brother (the little cutie in the picture) go every year, and share the bounties of their hunt with the family!

    Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Since I was a kid, my favorite thing about Thanksgiving was waking up to the smell of turkey cooking in the oven, and the Rockettes performing on the Macy’s logo in the middle of NYC! From the vintage floats to the celebrity cameos, the parade is what makes Thanksgiving holiday magical!

    Black Friday

I can't decide if I really like black Friday, or if I actually hate it. But either way, the deals are amazing, and racing the lady next to you to nab that last ipad mini really burns off all those calories you ate the day before!
