4 Dead, 1 Injured after Gunfire at Texas Baby’s Birthday Party
Four people are dead and one was airlifted to a hospital after gunfire erupted at a baby's birthday party in Taft Saturday evening.
Party-goers gathered in the small town a few miles north of Corpus Christi to celebrate a 1-year-old's birthday when several men reportedly got into an argument. The Corpus Christi Caller Times reports that the fight escalated into shots fired around 5:15 PM.
When the shooting ended, four men were dead. A fifth shooting victim was airlifted to Spohn Hospital Shoreline.
A DPS trooper speaking to the press said the fight was between members of two different families but did not have details about the nature of the argument. The trooper said two suspects remained at large, and that Texas Rangers were leading an investigation.
