It's fantastic news for a Hewitt family who's 5-year-old girl is headed home after a stay in the ICU at Cook Children's Medical Center.

KWTX is reporting that Faith Fortenberry, who suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, was allowed to go home after several days in the hospital and is responding well to her first treatment of Spinraza.

Faith's story has been in the news recently after months of back-and-forth with insurance companies over the Sprinraza treatment. She was allowed to travel home Sunday after being admitted Providence in Waco 5 days ago. She was transferred from Waco to Fort Worth after dehydration and vomiting.

Faith's mother Leeann said on social media that,

None of us know when the good Lord is going to call us home. But, I'm thankful after another stay in the hospital my favorite gift of all is going with home with me.

The family remains in our thoughts and prayers. Best wishes for young Faith and her recovery.
