In honor tonight's long anticipated HIMYM series finale, we've rounded up the most memorable series endings in television!

If you're a How I Met Your Mother fan, you've likely fantasized about this day for ages. After 9 seasons of following Ted Mosby and company through life's adventures, we finally get to see the moment he meets the mother. In honor of HIMYM saying goodbye, we've rounded up the most memorable tv series finales. Check out the good, the bad, and the ugly below!

MOST FRUSTRATING FINALE: THE SOPRANOS

As someone who never actually watched The Sopranos, I of course immediately headed to Youtube upon hearing about the abrupt way the series ended. When I first watched the clip, I didn't get it. I had heard that the shows main character, Tony, was dead, but it seemed to me that he was alive and kicking when the screen went black. It wasn't until I did a quick google search that I realized the audience was seeing things through his perspective, and when he was killed , the screen went black because it was being shown from his perspective.

MOST TEARS SHED: THE WONDER YEARS

Oh hey, I'm officially bawling in the studio right now. This show made me cry on numerous occasions, but none quite like the series finale. For one, I was sure Winnie and Kevin would end up together in the end! Not only do they go their separate ways, but *sob* Mr. Arnold dies! combine that with the nostalgic music and the voice over and I'm a blubbering baby.

CLEVERIST: NEWHART

I love this finale so much! For those of you who aren't familiar with Bob Newhart, he had 2 separate television shows that aired years apart. (The Bob Newhart Show, and Newhart) In his second series, Newhart, Bob plays an inn keeper in a small Vermont town with his wife, Joanna. In the last episode, things get crazy when a Japanese Tycoon buys the town and turns it into a golf resort. Years pass, and just when Bob has had enough of the crazy characters parading through his inn, he gets knocked out by a golf ball. The scene cuts to Bob waking up in a familiar bedroom, awaking from a dream. The lights go on, and Bob turns to his wife to tell her about his crazy dream. The catch? It's his wife, Emily, from his former show! Turns out the entire second series was a dream! Genius!

BEST RESOLVE: M*A*S*H

After 11 seasons on the air, M*A*S*H said goodbye with a 2 1/2 hour tv movie. By the time the finale ends, the war has finally come to a close and everyone has said their goodbyes, the most tearful, perhaps saved for last. To this day, this is still the highest rated finale ever!

MOST BIZZARE: ST ELSEWHERE

Um, what? In this series finale, we see the autistic son of Dr. Westphall gazing intoa snow globe. As we get a closer look, the audience sees that the globe contains the St. Eligius hospital building, the setting of the show. Apparently, the entire series was just the son's imagination!

MOST BITTERSWEET: CHEERS

After 11 seasons, America said goodbye to its favorite bar. As the series wraps up, it appears that Sam will leave Boston behind, along with the bar and his friends, in order to rekindle his romance with his former love interest, Diane. In the end, the two decide to part ways, and Sam returns to his "one true love", the bar.

MOST HEARTWARMING: THE OFFICE

Y'all. This is probably my favorite series finale ever. I thought no episode could top "Goodbye, Michael", when Steve Carrell turns off his mic as he walks away, but this one was just as good! I loved the resolution in this episode! Michael had a happy family, Dwight married Angela and finally  became manager, Andy redeemed himself, and Jim and Pam moved on to a new chapter in life.

HONORABLE MENTION:

LOST, FRIENDS, DEXTER, SEINFELD, AND ROSANNE
