Scientists in Norway are puzzled after it apparently rained earthworms at a coastal ski resort over the weekend.

Biology teacher Karstein Erstad was skiing in the mountains of Bergen, Norway when he noticed something weird: there were worms crawling around on the snow. At first he thought they must have crawled up from beneath, but the snow was just too deep.

Erstad took the worms to an environmental expert who was just as baffled as he. Reports later came in of more strange worm sightings across the country. Scientists think the worms were likely picked up by a weather system that carried them miles from their original location.
