Do you know someone in Belton in dire need of a way to keep cool? If so, you need to visit one of the city's fire departments and pick up a free fan.

The Belton Fire Department has teamed up with H-E-B and Walmart to distribute fans to those in need - especially the elderly and disabled. Beginning Monday, August 31, fans can be picked up at either the 203 S Penelope St. station or the station at 420 Sparta Rd any time between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m.

If you plan to take a fan, you'll need to show proof of residency within Belton city limits. A water or electric bill will work.

Supplies are limited, so you'll want to act quickly if you or someone you know is in need.
