The City of Belton is accepting submissions for its 2015 Clean Water Art Contest.

The contest is held each year to raise awareness of the effects chemicals and debris washed into our sewer systems and clean water bodies by stormwaters can have on the water use for swimming, fishing, cooking, and drinking.

The contest is open to all kindergarten to 12th grade students living within Belton's city limits. Officials are looking for original drawings or 30 second videos showing how citizens can help protect our water resources.

One winning drawing will be selected from four grade groups: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Two winning videos will be selected from all videos submitted, regardless of age group. Each winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from a local restaurant or retail business in Belton.

Click here to download an official entry form and see the full list of rules and requirements. All entries must be turned in no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30. Anyone with questions may call (254) 933-5823.
