The owner of a religious decoration shop got the surprise of a lifetime when a statue of Jesus was stolen from the front of her store, then returned days later in better condition.

Midge Saglimbene, owner of Angels and Company in Monroe, Connecticut, told WTNH-TV that the statue was stolen some time between last Tuesday night and the next morning. The statue, valued at around $600, reappeared in front of her store Sunday with a fresh coat of paint.

Saglimbene said there was no note on the returned statue, but that she believes the thief or thieves had good intentions and she's grateful to have the statue back in front of the store and looking better than ever.
