Temple police are searching for a man who robbed a Temple convenience store Saturday.

Officers responded to a panic alarm at the Shop-N-Go convenience store at 1217 S. 19th St. around 6:40 AM. When they arrived, a clerk told them a masked man had entered the store, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash. The clerk told the man there was no cash to hand over, as the store had just opened. According to the clerk, this statement seemed to confuse the suspect for a moment, after which he pulled out a pillow case and begin filling it with tobacco products. The suspect then fled south on foot.

The suspect was described as a male standing approximately 5’9” with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket with grey sleeves, tan pants, lightly-colored gloves, and camouflage slip-on shoes. He wore a dark scarf to cover his head and face and carried a black umbrella to hide himself from security cameras.

Anyone who may have information about this case is asked to call the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500 or Bell County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous and information submitted is confidential.
