Hey kids, do you fancy yourself a fish artist? If you do, you might be able to pick up a check.

The Texas-State Fish Art Contest is now accepting entries. The contest is open to any student grades K-12. Students must draw or paint any state-recognized fish. Artwork must be completed and post-marked by March 31. Complete guidelines can be found at TPWD.Texas.gov/FishArt.

The Toyota Texas Bass Classic provides funds for scholarships for the top prizes in each age division for Texas students. First place in grades 10–12 wins $1,000; second place $750; third place $500.

Prizes in the K–3, 4–6 and 7–9 grade levels are $100 for first; $75 for second; $50 for third. Their artwork is also featured on the tickets for the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. The tournament will be held on Lake Ray Hubbard this May.

Additional support is provided by the Wildlife Forever Fund who helps support the National contest, and also the William E. Armentrout Foundation and Friends of the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center.

Texas winners will also receive travel assistance to attend the national awards ceremony on behalf of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic.
