Apple is getting ready to build again in Austin, Texas.

A $1 billion dollar campus is in the works for the capital city, not far from their existing facilities, along with similar but smaller campuses set to be built in places like Seattle, San Diego according to the company.

KXXV shared information from Apple that says the new Austin campus with start out with 5000 employees across engineering, research, operations, finance, sales, and customer support. There are nearly 6000 people in Austin who currently work for Apple.

It was almost one year ago when Apple announced it would be searching nationwide for a new U.S. location. Austin Mayor Steve Adler said, "Apple has been a vital part of the Austin community for a quarter century, and we are thrilled that they are deepening their investment in our people and the city we love."
