The parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Temple became a drag strip Saturday as teams from across Central Texas gathered for a race unlike anything you've seen before.

Instead of an entrance fee, teams raised funds for Family Promise of East Bell County, which partners with area churches to provide shelter and assistance to local homeless families trying to get back on their feet.

12 teams of five created unique beds on wheels to compete first in time trials, then in head-to-head races. The audience voted for the most creative bed with their dollars, all of which went to Family Promise.

You've got to see this to believe it! Congratulations to all the teams for a job well done for local families in need, as well as on their fantastic racing bed creations!
