When Bell County Sheriff Deputy Adam Davis died in the line of duty in December 2013, the impact was felt by the entire law enforcement community throughout Central Texas.  None felt the impact quite like fellow Bell County Deputy and brother of Adam, James Davis.

Following a trip to Washington, DC for National Police Week honoring his brother and other fallen officers, James spoke with Dani & Jamie during Monday morning's show.

National Police Week is Washington, DC featured a performance by country star Jerrod Niemann at the capitol honoring fallen officers, a Police Unity Tour bike ride and a candlelight vigil.  Officer James Davis shared with us about the vigil, stating each fallen officer's name was read, the family laid a wreath and a 21-gun salute followed.

The state of Texas led the nation in officer deaths in 2013, which is something we should all worry about.  Coming from a family of law enforcement members, the safety of our police officers is something I'm extremely passionate about, and I greatly appreciate Deputy James Davis speaking with us during our show.

Support our fallen officers and their families through organizations such as the Police Unity Tour, COPS or the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
