I wasn't able to watch the entire ACM awards show last night, but I am slowly catching up. I posted about my FAVORITE performance of the night HERE, but if I had to pick my least favorite...that would easily go to Blake Shelton and Company with the opening performance of Blake's "Boys' Round Here".

Look, I get it. They wanted to set the tone for the biggest party of the year for Country music, but I will never get those 3 minutes and 19 seconds of my life back. I just thought it was such a huge waste of so much amazing talent all on one stage, especially with the Pistol Annies and Sheryl Crow. I am not a music snob and I don't think that everything worth listening to has to be serious, deep or dark by any means and trust me, I like to be entertained as much as the next fan...but that was just too silly for my taste. While I guess I find this "country rap" (aka C-RAP) performance slightly humorous, I personally would have loved for the group to showcase more of their talent.

In a perfect world, I would have loved to have seen the Pistol Annies perform their new single, "Hush Hush" with Sheryl Crow and Brad Paisley on guitar...and if "Bluke" just had to do a little beat boxing in the background just so this COUNTRY awards show was mainstream enough for the masses and cheesy enough to get the high ratings needed to keep the network happy, so be it. Anything would have been better than this trainwreck...well...anything other than Jason Aldean's "1994". I'm just saying. (I won't even bother to give you my opinion on that performance because I am just pretending it didn't happen.)

Sidenotes: In my opinion, Angeleena's lace shorts stole the show! Those were so cute and now I want a pair!

Again, this performance gets my vote for the WORST of the night and if that makes me old and un-hip, I am ok with that.
