Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have become one of country's most talked-about couples since the CMA Awards in November, but Shelton is taking things slow.

On Sunday (Jan. 17), Shelton was stopped by paparazzi outside a grocery store in Studio City, Calif, who asked him if he is about to start a family with girlfriend Stefani.

"I think it's awfully early to be talking about that, don't you?" he responded while loading up the car.

When told that he looks really happy, he responded simply with, "Well, we are."

A rep confirmed that Shelton and Stefani were dating last fall. Since then, the pair have been spotted in Nashville together and responding to each other on social media, making them a constant fixture in the tabloids.

Shelton split from wife Miranda Lambert in July, and in a recent interview said that his forthcoming album doesn't shy away from the emotions of their divorce.

“I’ve written more than I’ve written in 15 years, for obvious reasons — all the awful things that have happened in my personal life — but the way the year ended is also the greatest of my life,” Shelton tells Country Countdown USA.

“I want to get it out there,” he continues. “It’s driving me nuts to not be already into that project because it’s all I’m thinking about. I’m doing what I’m supposed to do, and that’s put all I’ve gone through and put it into music, and I never felt more connected to a record before. When people hear this record, they may not know what happened to me, but they’re gonna know how I felt about it. And that’s exciting for me, to just lay it out there for people."
