Fort Hood officials confirmed Tuesday that the body of a 14-year-old student was discovered behind Clarke Elementary School on post.

The boy’s remains were found by a teacher. After she contacted Fort Hood law enforcement, the school was placed on lockdown until officials determined there was no threat to students or faculty.

The area where the body was found was cordoned off and is being investigated by Special Agents with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. CID officials said Tuesday that there was no known threat to the public or students.

The parents of the deceased boy reported him missing earlier in the day along with a weapon from the home. Further information will become available as the CID investigates.
