Boil Notice For Belton, Cameron Water Companies

Boil notices have been issued from two area water suppliers in Central Texas. Armstrong water supply, and Little Elm Valley water supply are both telling customers to boil water before drinking.

Armstrong water supply in Belton issued their boil notice for customers along Stag road after a water line broke on Monday. In Cameron, Little Elm Valley water supply issued a boil notice after an outage at a treatment plant.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requires suppliers to notify customers when conditions arise that require water to be boiled so that it's safe for drinking. Boiling water gets rid of harmful bacteria and microbes that may otherwise be present in the water supply. Water used for cooking, drinking, or making ice should be brought to a rolling boil for at least two minutes and then allowed to cool before use. Bottled water can also be used as a substitute.

When water in these areas no longer needs to be boiled, water officials will issue an all clear notification.
