A driver whose car became suspended from a cable outside an Austin parking garage was safe, but crews were working to safetly remove the vehicle Friday afternoon.

According to live commentary from Austin's Fox 7 News, the driver was trying to park on the 9th floor of the Littlefield Garage parking complex at the corner of Congress Avenue and East Sixth Street shortly before 2:40 PM.

The driver told authorities the car didn't stop as he pulled into the space, and accelerated through a cable barrier.

At least one of the cables then wrapped around a front wheel. The driver managed to escape to the 8th floor of the complex.
