Carrie Underwood is raising the bar for herself with her new single 'Something in the Water.' The song marked the best-selling first week of the star's entire career!

The single, which has a strong Christian theme, is from Underwood's upcoming 'Greatest Hits: Decade #1' album, which drops on Dec. 9. 'Something in the Water' reached more than 124,000 digital sales in a week since being released.

Those numbers alone are the best first week for a single by the 'American Idol' winner ever, but also give underwood the slot for best opening week of any female country artist in 2014!

Although a slightly different turn for the superstar, 'Something in the Water' has proven to be a big hit with country fans. It even set the all-time record for any country song at Mediabase, the service that tracks radio airplay. The song was added to 144 radio stations on its impact date and is now sitting at No. 25 -- a tie for Underwood's personal best with 'So Small,' which also started at No. 25.

Underwood's new 'Greatest Hits' release is available for pre-order here. The songstress recently opened up about her Christian faith and the single, which ends with her singing a portion of 'Amazing Grace.'
