Celebrate National Hugging Day Like Fort Hood’s Hug Lady
This is an easy one. It's National Hugging Day so get to Hugging. Nothing perverted please!
This is the perfect time to revisit Fort Hood's Hug Lady, Elizabeth Laird.
Lieutenant Col. Dan O'Rourke gets a hug from Elizabeth Laird /Fort Hood Sentinel
She hangs out at Fort Hood's airport and hugs soldiers goodbye when they go off to war. She hugs them home when they come back. The Hug Lady is 82 years old now and she has been hugging soldiers since 2003.
Laird was given the Yellow Rose of Texas Award last year. The award comes from the Governor's Office to recognize outstanding Texas women for their contributions to their communities.
Way to go Hug Lady!
