A teacher with Groesbeck ISD was found asleep at the wheel of her white Nissan near the intersection of Adams avenue and 29th street in Temple last week. KWTX reports police found traces of methamphetamine in her purse after waking her up.

Jail records say Stephanie Alfano posted a $25,000 bond, and resigned from her position with Groesback ISD following the arrest. Alfano is a mother of 4 kids. She told police she was headed home from the Belton High School commencement when she fell asleep in her car.

Traces of methamphetamine showed up after police got her permission to search her vehicle after finding her asleep inside. She was released from the Bell County Jail on Friday.
