There are certain times when we hear a familiar tune, or catch a whiff of a smell that transports us back to our childhood. Sometimes, we pick up items, and that feeling of deja vu takes us back in time.

You know what I'm talking about?

For me - at least, pre-listeria days - it was getting a Blue Bell ice cream sandwich. I remember going to my great-grandpa's house, and his freezer being stocked with Blue Bell ice cream sandwiches (original AND cookies-n-cream).

Another memory I had was Life Savers. BOTH sets of my grandparents kept mounds of these little treats on hand. And I'm not talking about the gummy sweet ones. I'm talking about the original, white, chalky Life Savers that acted as mints. I'm not sure what they were trying to tell me by providing me with this, but I grew to love the little things.

So, there you have it. My nostalgia is brought on by food - imagine that. But, I still love both of those treats, even today.

And that brings on another point: If anyone knows anything about a possible release date of Blue Bell ice cream sandwiches, or if they're going to bring them back at all, please let me know!

Let's take a look at a few things it seemed every grandma had around the house or in her giant purse;

    Ice Cream Sandwiches

    As I said, these were a big part of my childhood and if your were lucky, they were part of yours too.

    Popsicles

    Yes there are two cold treats on this list! You got a problem with that. My great gramps had a deep freeze with all the best stuff.

    Money

    Remember when money existed? Me either.

    No my grandma never gave me the amount shown in the picture here.

    Loose candy

    Why do older people always have loose candy on them? Whether it's Werther's orginals, jolly ranchers, or even Luden's cough drops (Yeah those classify as candy to me), the box or bag that the candy came in was nowhere to be found.
