Chris Stapleton has announced that he and his wife Morgane are expecting a new baby! As first reported by The Blast, the country superstar announced the news during a performance at Madison Square in New York City on Friday (Nov. 2).

"I've got an announcement to make," Stapleton told the crowd between songs. "Some of you may know that we have four children...Now there's four for us, but we gonna make it five," he continued, to uproarious applause from the audience. Morgane Stapleton, who often contributes vocal harmony and tambourine accompaniment to the country star's performances, was also onstage during the announcement.

In addition to two older children -- one son and one daughter -- the Stapleton family welcomed twin boys in April of 2018. A couple of months after the birth of their two youngest sons, Stapleton explained to The Boot that maintaining privacy for his family was an important part of balancing his personal and musical lives. "I signed up for this," he commented. "My children did not. I am a very private person, and in that respect, I keep my children out of it. They're children, and they deserve the chance to be children."

In April of 2018, Stapleton had to miss the the ACM awards -- where he was announced as the winner of Album of the Year -- due to the impending due date of his twins. In fact, host Reba McEntire jumped onstage after his win was announced in order to explain his abscence, and that in fact, "those rascals came a little bit early!"

The country star is currently nominated in a whopping five categories at the 2018 CMA Awards, including Single of the Year (for "Broken Halos,") Male Vocalist of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (for From a Room: Volume 2) and Song of the Year. The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 8PM ET.
