KWTX reports that controversial Texas school superintendent Lynn Redden has resigned.

Redden's resignation came shortly after the Onalaska School Board convened for a special meeting on Saturday to discuss his fate following controversial comments he made about Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Redden resignation came later that day.

Redden's racially charged comment was posted to social media on Monday, September 17 following the Houston Texans' 17-20 loss to the Tennessee Titans the day before.

In response to his disappointment in the Texans' loss, Redden took to the Houston Chronicle's Facebook page, where he wrote, “That may have been the most inept quarterback decision I’ve seen in the NFL. When you need precision decision-making you can’t count on a black quarterback.”

Redden sent an open letter to the Onalaska Independent School District board in which he apologized for his comments, saying that they were "wrong and inappropriate."

We live in a social media charged age where anyone can see anything someone posts on Facebook. Remember - it's always wise to always think before you post anything online.
