The McLane Center of Hope is open at the Bell County Salvation Army in Temple, Texas to provide for those in need of food, or just seeking shelter during this prolonged heat wave that is seemingly never ending. Each day, until further notice, the center will open at 1 PM until 8 PM daily to allow a cool place to safely escape the blistering sunshine that has set in for the better part of the last 8 weeks.

What requirements are there to use the cooling center?

There are no requirements to come through the doors. You can be an outdoor laborer looking for some air conditioned assisted shade, or simply someone who is passing through that part of town and want to get out of the heat for a brief or prolonged duration of time.

Where is the McLane Center of Hope located?

You can enter at 419 East Ave. G in Temple. An evening meal is also being offered to anyone that wants to eat, and all are welcome. They do remind you that pets are not allowed.
