A resignation and retirement agreement has been reached between Copperas Cove High School and former Head Coach Jack Welch according to KWTX.com.

Coach Welch led the Bulldogs to a record of 150-51-1 over the course of the last two decades to go along with 2 state championships. He has vacated the head coaching position and will receive a check for $80,000 after a closed-door meeting with the school board. The school will retain the Bulldogs logo that Welch had registered as a trademark in 2002 for a 10 year period. The district will be providing Welch with a letter of recommendation and will serve as a reference for the former Coach should anyone contact the school about his work.

The Bulldogs canceled their spring practice sessions after the departure of several assistant coaches in recent weeks. The school continues to decline to comment on the Coaches departure and is getting to work hiring a new athletic director.
