Tyrone Antonio Ballard was arrested on Sunday on charges of burglary of a habitation with intent to commit assault and abandoning or endangering a child.

Around 1 a.m. on Thursday, Copperas Cove police responded to a call for a burglary on Nelson Drive.

The victim reported that she ignored a call from Ballard, after which he came to her front door and forced his way in. He allegedly pushed her into a table before running upstairs where two children were.

Ballard grabbed the younger child, the victim's 1-year-old daughter, and pushed her and the victim onto the bed, saying he was going to stab the victim.

The victim sustained various injuries.

Ballard fled before police arrived. His bail was set at $50,000. He was not in Coryell County Jail as of Monday.
