For all you cooking fans, bad news. Your Test Kitchen is going away.

The Killeen Daily Herald is reporting that the Central Texas College's board of trustees have rescinded a renewal vote from last April.

The vote was for a "repack". It was for an FCC mandate to switch it's channel from 46 to 17. The move would've cost CTC over $4 million dollars. The only reason the vote was approved last April was the understanding that FCC would reimburse the cost. But the government funding is a little uncertain for whatever reason. Combine that with low donations, and the board reversed it's "repack" vote.

Right now, no specific date has been set for KNCT to cease operations. KDH reports that local cable companies would probably switch to another PBS station.

KDH could not get a comment from a representative from Spectrum Cable on whether any realignment of channels would take place after KNCT stops broadcasting.

CTC plans to continue its radio and academics department. Also, there are plans to continue streaming programming online.
