Curtis Grimes Plays Bloomin’ Saturday Night

Curtis Grimes will perform at Bloomin' Temple Festival in downtown Temple Saturday night at 9:00 p.m.

While performing for Team Cee Lo on NBC's hit series The Voice, Curtis Grimes used his classic country style patterned after George Strait to win over the audience and judges.

“Strait is a big inspiration and who I aspire to be. But I’m also a fan of strong voices
like Chris Young and Clay Walker,  Grimes said on his website.

“I’ve always liked the traditional sound. I became a singer because I can relate to those heartache songs. But I also like to have a good time, and when I get onstage, it’s go time."

Grimes recently took his talents to the road and will stop in Temple for Bloomin' on May 10. This April he won best New Male Vocalist at the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards.

Grimes has played hundreds of shows across Texas and the southwestern United States. Before pursuing a career in singing and songwriting, he played as an All-State pitcher and went to college in Louisiana on academic and baseball scholarships.

“Along with baseball, country music has shaped my life, and through hard work and
determination, I ended up getting to sing it for a living,” Curtis said on his website.

“And the best part is the ride is just beginning.”
