Officials with Child Protective Services are investigating after a 14-year-old girl says she was forced to crawl on her hands on knees on a rough track as punishment for acting up in class at a Dallas high school.

The incident reportedly began in a classroom where students were having breakfast. Tiara Williams says a teacher asked her to stop eating, but she refused because she didn't want to waste what was left of a bag of chips. The teacher then dismissed her from class and sent her to her cheer leading coach, who reportedly administered the punishment.

CPS was called after the girl was treated at a clinic for blisters on her hands and swelling. In a video report from FOX 4 TV, Tiara is seen with her left arm in a sling.

The school says it does not condone the punishment, but has not said what action, if any, it will take to discipline the teacher or the coach involved.
