Some of those Little Vials of Instant Energy may be linked to life threatening ailments like heart attacks. A New York Times investigation reveals the 5 Hour Energy shot was mentioned in some 90 filings with the F.D.A., including more than 30 that involved heart attacks, convulsions and, in one case, a spontaneous abortion.
