Additional Information

Join the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum for a celebration of the many ways we communicate with each other. Explore old and new ways of sending messages at Knock, Talk and Squawk Family Day this Saturday, November 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the museum.

Visitors will get the chance to try out a variety of communication methods like using a telegraph key to tap out messages using Morse code or using their hands to learn some American Sign Language. Kids will enjoy making their own semaphore flag, using a tin can telephone and watching a science experiment that demonstrates the existence of invisible radio waves. Railroad enthusiasts will also be able to practice relaying signals with an old-fashioned hand lantern.

The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum hosts a free Family Day event on the first Saturday of each month.

Free and Open to all.  Regular admission charges apply to view the rest of the museum.

The museum is located in the Santa Fe Depot at 315 West Avenue B in downtown Temple. The museum is open 10am – 4pm, Tuesday – Saturday.
