Find Your Local Muster in Central Texas
"Softly call the Muster..."
As an Aggie, there are so many traditions that I love. From sawing varsity's horns off, to "mugging down" at Midnight Yell, Aggie traditions are one of the things that make A&M so special. But of all the wonderful Aggie traditions, my favorite has to be Muster. If you're not familiar with the ceremony, every 21st of April, Aggies all over the world gather on this day to remember those who have passed away in the last year. The official description reads:
"In this ceremony we honor the memories of fellow A&M men and women whose death prevents their answering Roll Call at this annual Muster. The Roll is a symbolic Roll Call of all students and former students whom death has taken from our ranks, but whose memory lives on in our hearts. As each name is called, a comrade will answer: Here!"
Of course, the official Muster on TAMU campus will be held tonight at Reed Arena at 7:00 PM, but for those of us who can't make the pilgramage back to College Station, there are plenty of local Muster ceremonies and meetings happening all over the world.
