The City of Killeen wants you to be aware again, with New Years Eve approaching, that fireworks are illegal inside city limits and you will pay the price if you're caught with them.

According to a press release from the city, It is illegal to possess, store, sell, use or explode any fireworks, including sparklers, within the Killeen city limits. The penalty is a fine up to $2,000.

Also, we would like to remind you that while there may not be a city statue on this, please don't fire your guns into the air on New Years Eve because "FALLING BULLETS KILL" and we don't want your celebration to turn into someone else's tragedy.

We hope you have a safe and fun New Year!
