Hurray Recess!!!! Kids love that special time when they get to take a little break from the books.   Not all schools still do recess, but students at  Weber Middle School in Port Washington on Long Island still get it, only now  they don’t get to do much with it.

Administrators there are worried that students are getting hurt during recess. So they banned all the dangerous play.  No more tossing the football around. Baseball, fugettaboutit!  Soccer?  Nope the ball is too hard.   Lacrosse is banned too and I don’t even know how you play that.  Also banned,  tag and cartwheels unless supervised by a coach.

The one thing they can play with, Nerf Balls, and maybe Hula Hoops.

Students are not happy about the new rules, but  Port Washington schools Supt. Kathleen Maloney said there were just too many playground injuries.

But some parents said it is really about liability and lawsuits.

And the Kids?  They are just plain mad!

Sorry kids, how about a nice game of Jacks?

Never mind,  one of those little tin things might bounce up and put your eye out!
