Former Killeen Resident Eugene Kelly Wolfenberger has been found guilty of intoxicated manslaughter in relation to the 2010 death of William Allen Reed.

The jury deliberated for less than an hour before finding that Wolfenberger acted with a deadly weapon, his vehicle, and had a blood alcohol level nearly four times the legal limit.

Wolfenberger originally attempted to plead guilty, but State District Judge Martha Trudo ordered him to stand trial.

The punishment phase of the trial will begin at 9 a.m. Friday.

Wolfenberger was arrested on September 14, 2012 as he was awaiting a bond hearing. He had been summoned back to court after his original bond was deemed to be too low.

After posting bond again, Wolfenberger moved to Harrison County. He was later arrested on charges of aggravated assault after his girlfriend reported that she was attacked with an AK-47 assault rifle.
