If you didn't get to see the Fort Hood Tree lighting this past Friday night the photo above will help to add a little Christmas cheer as you do your shopping this weekend, pick out your tree, or start decorating the house for the holidays.

The tree lighting took place outside the III Corps headquarters on Friday night with plenty of voices sharing in holiday songs. After the tree was lit, Santa Clause made his first appearance of the season.

Elsewhere in Killeen, Lights on Santa Fe brought the festivities to life with real holiday snow and fun for families getting ready for the first weekend in December.

11-year-old London M. told News 10, "It's fun, it's exciting. It's really cool. A lot, the great part is that it doesn't burn your eyes."

Jasmine Suino, with the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce, told KWTX News 10, "The main goals were to showcase downtown. It's a beautiful place to come and a great Christmas spirit and also gives the people of Killeen something to look forward to in the holiday spirit. And do something free with their family."
