News 10 is reporting that this Friday, dozens of children all throughout Central Texas will have their adoptions finalized.

Friday is National Adoption Day and there are more than 100,000 children nationwide in foster care.

"It's important for our children to know where they came from, who they are,” says adoption prep worker specialist Cori Edmonds.

Edmonds went on to say just how amazing being adopted can be for a young child.

“When they find a family that is ready to call them their own, raise them, nurture them, love them and give them a forever family, it is such a positive impact on these kids,” she says.

You do not have to adopt a child to help kids in foster care.

KWTX said that you can help by being, "foster parents and CASA volunteers who will advocate for them in the court."
