When Walmart moved out, the residents of McAllen, Texas moved in. In 2012 the International Interior Design Association selected McAllen as the city whose Library would win their interior design competition, and ever since it's basically held the title of "Most Beautiful Library In Texas".

Recently the website and popular magazine Tech Insider took the time to compare libraries all over the state to "officially" find which one was most beautiful. Congrats to the winner, south Texas's McAllen Library!

The former 123,000-square foot Walmart Store is also the largest single-floor library in the country.

McAllen Library sees about 60,000 visitors every month. Inside you'll find 16 meeting areas, over 100 computers, a café, teen area, children's area, and it's home to more than 350,000 books and other items.

Better get to readin'!
