Make plans to visit the Harker Heights Farmers Market Saturday, August 5th, and score a FREE reusable farmers market shopping bag!

National Farmers Market Week begins August 6th to 12th. The week helps shed some light on how valuable farmers market contributions are in central Texas. They have a great impact on the local economy, create jobs, and help us maintain the land in Bell County with a local food source.

Activities Coordinator Heather Buller said in a recent press release from Harker Heights Parks and Rec that, “We are hoping to get local citizens out to meet and chat with their local farmer during National Farmers Market week. It is a great opportunity to learn where your food comes from and meet the person that grows it for you. You do not get this opportunity at your local grocery store."

You'll find the Harker Heights Farmers Market at Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights at 850 W. Central Texas Expressway from 8am to 1pm. More info can be found by calling 254-953-5493.
