A burglary suspect in Harker Heights was caught in the act Tuesday night and held at gunpoint until police arrived.

According to Harker Heights police, 19-year-old Keegan James Jackson entered a home illegally in the 300 block of Indian Oaks Drive shortly before 11:30 p.m. Jackson was apparently noisy enough to wake the home’s resident, who walked in on Jackson rummaging for things to steal. The resident confronted Jackson with a firearm and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

Officers found Jackson in possession of a pillowcase stuffed with stolen items. He has been charged with burglary of a habitation, criminal mischief and possession of marijuana. He reportedly has outstanding warrants out of Brazos County for failure to identify, as well.

Jackson’s bond has yet to be set. Harker Heights police continue to investigate the incident and are asking anyone with information to call (254) 953-5400.
