It seems the new judge in the Fort Hood Shooting has a difficult decision to make. Maj. Nidal Hasan's lawyers have made it clear that Hasan would plead guilty to murder if the death penalty is removed.  Army rules prohibit a guilty plea in death penalty cases, however if the judge chooses to remove the death penalty, then Hassan would be allowed to plead guilty to 13 counts of premeditated murder and receive a life sentence without parole.  He already faces that sentence for the 32 counts of attempted murder.

Although still no date has been set in this trial that has already been delayed way too long, what do you think about this?  Should Hasan be allowed to plead guilty to escape the death penalty?
