Have You Seen the Mermaids at Cameron Park Zoo?

The Cameron Park Zoo is making a splash this summer with their Mermaid Program!

There are six mermaids and two mermen spending the summer at Cameron Park Zoo! If you haven't had the chance to see them yet be sure to plan ahead for the Cameron Park Zoo's "Back to School Splash" coming up August 11th!

KWTX reports that the mermaids usually make appearances during educational events at the zoo. Priscilla Duran is the Aquatics Animal Care Supervisor and one of the mermaids. She told KWTX that the reaction from the children makes playing the part tons of fun. She said "It's their reactions and that first response they give us when they see us that's really rewarding. It's just that interaction with the kids that's awesome."

Mermaids can be found posing for pictures in the tank at the zoo's aquarium.
