The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Bell County and Central Texas from Noon on Wednesday until 8 pm Thursday.Temperatures the next couple of days will reach the middle to upper 90's, with afternoon heat index values reaching near 105 degrees.

These temperatures can quickly cause heat exhaustion or heat stroke for anyone working or participating in outdoor activities. An advisory is issued when heat index values are expected to exceed 105 degrees for at least 48 hours.

Be sure to check on persons with health problems and older relatives. Never leave children or pets alone inside enclosed vehicles, and don't forget to leave out extra water for pets, or bring them indoors when possible during this stretch of warm weather.
