I know it might sound kind of silly that a whole community would band together to find a missing dog. But if that'w what you really think, then you've never had a dog as a pet.

KWTX is reporting that the City of Hewitt has been searching for an 11-year-old basset hound named Gus for over a month. Gus has been spotted three times in the last two days, but he has evaded capture each time. That is saying something right there. Someone might want to look into that.

But the missing dog has spearheaded a movement to get a thermal drone. A GoFund me page has been set up. Now before you scoff, finding missing pets will just be a happy secondary reason to have the drone. The main reason, and the reason why Hewitt has been trying to get one before Gus went missing, is that police and firefighters could use a drone to help with search and rescue, as well as finding hot spots in a fire.

At this point they have to call in teams from bigger cities, but they have their own area that needs droning.

But really, why has Gus ran away and avoided everyone looking for him? That's something that should be looked into.
