Hurricane Harvey is has been downgraded to a Catagory 1 storm as it moves inland over Texas and its expected to bring several inches of rain to Bell County this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch and a Wind Advisory for Bell County today. In the map above, areas in the red are likely to experience winds near 40mph at times, and flooding is considered likely.

Rain has been falling overnight making roads well saturated early Saturday. Please be safe if you have to travel this weekend. A Wind Advisory issued when winds reach 20-30 mile-per-hour. These winds will stay with us into our Saturday evening. Along a line from Lampasas to Waco to Athens 2 to 6 inches of rain is expected between now and Sunday.

Hurricane Harvey has caused flooding in many areas of south Texas and several power outages have. 24/7 News reports nearly 300,000 Texans are without power.
