It’s Time to Sign Up For Lemonade Day
Carpenters in the family, head on over to the hardware store so that lemonade stand will be ready for business Sunday, May 3. All kids in the Greater Killeen-Fort Hood Area are invited to take part in Lemonade Day.
It's really easy, make a stand, make some lemonade and sell it. You can also sell cookies, or cakes, or tacos, or french fries, or whatever else comes to mind. Kids decide what to do and how to do it. The Lemonade Day folks will help. Parents register your young sales people now at forthood.lemonadeday.org.
Each child who registers gets a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the 14 lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community.
It's a great learning experience and the kids make money! They are encouraged to spend some, save some, and share some.
These kids took part last year. Stands went up in parks, store parking lots and neighborhoods. Check out the Lemonade Day Facebook page.
It's very important to register now so kids have time to get everything ready. They can enter the best tasting lemonade contest and they can win other prizes too. Check out all the info on the Lemonade Day Website and our very own Greater Killeen Fort Hood Facebook.
