Staying at home while my family goes on vacation is never fun, but thanks to the multiple ways to call, text, email, tweet or Facebook, I'm never far from interacting with my boys even while they're on the road.

Logan and Tyler traveled more than 5,000 miles in the backseat of a minivan this summer, and thanks to all the Facebook updates and pictures sent via text, I felt like I was there the whole time.  The only thing I didn't experience was the occasional temper tantrum.

The first leg of the journey came in early July as my wife, her parents and my two boys drove to West Virginia to see their extended family.  The second leg of the journey was to California, Lake Tahoe, the Grand Canyon and Roswell, NM.

During both legs of the journey my 6-year-old, Logan, borrowed Grammie's phone and proceeded to "blow up" my phone on the regg.  I've taken the time to piece all those texts together to share with you the joy that comes from a 6-year-old just winging it on the spelling of a lot of the words.  Why auto-correct didn't fix these texts I'll never know, but I love them just the way they are.

Today's texts come from the West Virginia trip.  I'll feature the California texts tomorrow, and they only get better as they go along.  Enjoy "Texting With a 6-Year-Old"

Come back tomorrow for the conclusion of this round of "Texting With a 6-Year-Old - The California Trip".  You can see the point in the texting when people begin to lose their minds from being in the same car for over 5,000 miles.
